A Day in the Life…

While support raising I’ve found that I have great days and harder days. The harder days actually end up good. Really, they end up better than the great days because God meets me in my struggles. Today has been rough. While I still struggle with trusting the Lord I would like to share with you how he encouraged me in the course of one hour.

First…

::I got an text from a friend asking where they go online to support me. This was so encouraging. I don’t care if it’s a $5 donation or not. God reminded me that he is capable of providing and he maybe even likes me a little:)

About 5 minutes later…

::My worship pastor posted this link. This is a song we sang last Palm Sunday. “Let my weakness find your strength and I will be alright.”

About 15 minutes later…

:: This popped up on my twitter feed. I had been praying through those verses this afternoon

About 15 minutes after that…

::I saw this.

Voila. I’m all better. Obviously, I’m not all better. I mean I still struggle to believe certain truths, but God in his kindness pointed me back to himself while I was incapable of doing so. And here’s the good news, he will do it later today, and tomorrow and the next day.

January… The rest of the story in pictures

Each picture has a story! They were each great moments over the last couple of weeks.

Impromptu paint brushes out of Q-Tips with John, Partner Appreciation cereal, the view from my fave spot in the library, chocolate and a randomly found London themed pencil that made my day (it's the small things)

One of the girls read that pouring champange over cotton candy causes some kind of reaction. Didn't happen. It was fun though!

One morning I found this on my car.

This was frozen to my windshield. Shockingly I didn't plan extra time to scrape a frozen Barbie off my windshield that morning, so I drove to work with it attached. The head flew off somewhere on Dolly Ridge.

November

I think it would suffice to say that I’ve had a super busy few months. Here’s my attempt to catch upl

Here goes…

My best friend had a baby naturally, as in no epidural. She’s my hero for that alone.

Here she is chilling in between contractions.

We had one false alarm. This was my bed in a waiting room that was approximately 27 degrees.

And here's Annabelle!

And here’s Annabelle!

Someone brought me popcorn from one of the greatest places in the world. Garrett’s in Chicago.

After Annabelle, this was the second most significant event of November.

I saw this car.

"Low Life" I think this a good idea for the Buick.

Fried Twinkies

Yep, my uncle fried Twinkies on Thanksgiving.

Now, that’s a rough summation of November.

Tasty Recipes

Below is a list of yummy recipes I’ve tried lately. I liked every single one of them!

Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes: I loved this! It was super easy and really delicious! I doubled the recipe and it had to simmer to thicken for a lot longer than the recipe said. We all consumed this dinner! Honestly I wouldn’t worry about the cheese sauce. It was ok. I think just putting a slice of cheese on top would suffice.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole: Two thumbs up for sure! This was easy and delicious. Bonus: Rotisserie chickens were super cheap so I didn’t even have to cook chicken!

White Chicken Enchiladas: I used greek yogurt instead of sour cream! No one could tell and it helped make the dish more healthy!

Chicken Tamale Pie: This recipe is one of my new favorites! It was easy and super tasty! I made little individual size servings and froze them. Now when I want some I just pull one out of the freezer and cook. I can’t recommend this recipe enough!

Spaghetti Squash Au Gratin: The lady that came up with this recipe swears that it’s as tasty as hashbrown casserole. Turns out, she’s wrong. Don’t get me wrong, this dish was really good and I will make again, but it’s no hashbrown casserole. I followed the directions, but mine wasn’t as creamy as hers at all. I think I should have put the squash in a colander after steaming it. I could have added more sour cream, but I was going for healthy.
